Trent Graves - Director of Bands
A graduate of East Texas Baptist University, I am entering my 14th year of teaching. Originally from Marshall, Tx, I now live in Conroe. It is my expectation that we approach everything we do as a band program with class and represent COCISD with exceptional musicianship and behavior at any event where the band is present. I am so excited to work with you and to help create a program that is a vital giving part of the community and competitive on stage and on the marching band field.
Isabel Talley - Junior High Band Director
Mrs. Talley is a graduate from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas with a bachelor's degree in Music Education and some graduate studies in Masters of Teaching. She is originally from Needville, Texas, and graduated from Needville High School. This is her fifth year teaching and fifth year at COCISD. Her primary instrument is Clarinet and serves as the Color Guard instructor.
Johnnie Hower - Assistant Band Director
Mr. Hower is a 5th year teacher who graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a degree in Music Education. His principal instrument is tuba, and he has extensive knowledge in brass pedagogy. He spent 2 years in public education as the Middle School Director/Assistant High School Director for Caldwell ISD. Following his 2 years in American public schools, he worked at the Ningxiang Country Garden High School, a private school in Changsha, China. While in China, he taught BTEC Music, a program designed to teach students the business and technological sides of the music industry. He has since returned to the states and is eager to get back into teaching band in Texas schools.
